integrative nutrition consults at Peony Women's Integrative Health

Integrative nutrition consults, also known as integrative nutrition therapy, involve a holistic approach to nutrition and health that considers various aspects of an individual’s well-being. This approach combines traditional dietary recommendations with a focus on lifestyle, mental, emotional, and environmental factors. Working with a Registered Dietician who understands not all person’s have the same body type, nutritional needs, and personal goals is key to developing a successful plan.

Integrative nutrition consults consider the whole person, not just their diet and focus on a holistic approach to support root-cause wellness. They consider an individual’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This approach is often used to manage chronic conditions, improve overall health, and prevent disease.  Nutrition and functional medicine often integrate principles of functional medicine, which looks at the root causes of health issues. This can involve personalized dietary recommendations, supplementation, and lifestyle changes to address specific health concerns.

Mind-Body connection and Integrative Nutrition recognizes the influence of mental and emotional well-being on physical health. Stress management, mindfulness, and mental health support can be incorporated into the consults. Focusing on one area without the other is a limited approach, both the mind and body should be nourished daily.

Nutritional Therapies and Integrative nutrition consults may involve the use of various nutritional therapies, such as dietary modifications, supplementation with vitamins and minerals, and herbal remedies. They should also include looking at environmental toxin exposure and environmental factors that impact health. Looking at your individual picture of health is ideal in this situation. No one person’s physical, mental, and emotional manifestations of health are the same, so to, should no one approach be the same. Individuality is key.
